Due to the low pressure area in Bay of Bengal and monsoon rain, Myanmar coastal region may experience heavy rain and tidal waves according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

“The low pressure area gradually moved to the west, and the north-west. It is estimated that it will pass through the Indian coast. Due to low pressure areas and strong monsoon rain, there may be heavy rain and tidal waves along Myanmar coastal regions. The wind speed in squall may reach 35 miles per hour. There may be heavy rain, hailstones and lightning and thunder in coastal regions,” said Dr. Kyaw Moe Oo, Director-General of DMH.
