The Ministry has issued directives to shophouses and roadside vendors in townships, wards and within villages to observe regulations to prevent COVID-19 efficiently. 

Vendors from shophouses and roadside shops should stay at home and discontinue selling if they get fever, or cough, or sneeze, or suddenly lose the sense of smell. The directive urges persons above 60 years and above , those with high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic diseases of heart, lungs, liver, kidney should refrain from selling. Those selling should ensure to cover their mouth and nose and visor. 

They should bear in mind that while selling it is possible to get infected with coronavirus. Social distancing should be kept between seller and buyer, and between buyers, like keeping barricades and keeping markers for buyers to wait or queue. They must ensure there is no crowding when coming to buy, and to clean hands with detergent containing 60% and above alcohol after handling cash, or after handling anything that is used by the public, and not touch one's nose, mouth and eyes. When sneezing or coughing suddenly  they should cover their mouths and nose with disposable tissue or cover with the elbow, and dispose of the tissue into the trash bin properly. There should be soap and water for sellers as well as for the buyers, and tissues for cleaning and trash cans at the shop. Detergents containing 60% alcohol should be provided. Objects that are touched by the public, like cash counter tables, door knobs, bazaar basket handles, trolley handles should be cleaned using disinfectants containing 70 to 90% alcohol and to scrub with a wet cloth  after 10 to 30 minutes. 

The directives mention that after coming home from shopping hands should be washed using soap, and rubbing hands for 20 seconds at least. If there is difficulty to get water then hand cleansing liquids with alcohol content of 60% and above should be used. Clothes worn when going to market should be changed, and washed after soaking in soap water for 30 minutes. Personal cleanliness should be observed.

Using the toilet before cleaning oneself should be avoided.    

With the second wave of COVID-19 among those affected more were shop vendors and in aged homes. At the moment the region with most infection is Yangon Region with nearly 60000 persons infected, and between 3000 to 4000 have been infected in North Okkalapa, Mingaladon, Hlaingthayar, Insein, and Thingangyun townships, as disclosed by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
