Govt designated entity consortium to be established to implement Kyaukphyu deep-sea port project

The Myanmar Special Economic Zone Central Committee has issued a statement saying that a Myanmar government designated entity consortium will be established with Myanmar companies which can invest US$5 million to implement the Kyaukphyu deep-sea port project. 

Some of the required qualifications of applicants are being  in comformity with the 2017 Myanmar Companies Law, a Myanmar private company or public company and registered locally. They must register at the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).

Average minimum annual turnover in the previous three years must be at least US$ 20 million or foreign currency or Myanmar currency equivalent to that amount. It mustn’t be in the black list or in the suspended list or unqualified list in the Ministry, Nay Pyi Taw Council area, Region/ States. There must be sufficient number of skilled workers and other skilled staff and it can provide assistance to skilled technology staff in the projects.

An applicant can afford US$ 5 million in investment when proposed. A financial report of the last three years must be submitted with an audit report.

Tax clearance certificate must also be submitted.

Interested companies can buy a form of EOI for 10, 000 kyats at the SEZ branch, Office No-3,  the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw or No-622/626 at the corner of Konethe Roade and Bo Sunpet Road in Pabadan Township, Yangon, not later than November 18.

After filling in the EOI, it can be submitted together with other required documents at the above mentioned places before December 15.
