The government will invite entrepreneurs to collaborate in pharmaceutical production through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) system, according to Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than.
On October 10, Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, together with officials, visited the Insein Pharmaceutical Factory to inspect the step-by-step process of producing intravenous infusion solutions. The inspection was followed by a meeting with general managers from state-owned industries, the factory manager, and department heads at the factory’s conference hall and pharmaceutical history exhibition room.
During the meeting, the Union Minister said that the Insein Pharmaceutical Factory is an Original Brand Manufacturer (OBM) that produces medicines under the BPI brand using its own unique formulas. He stressed that BPI-branded pharmaceuticals must maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.
He added that the government plans to invite businesspeople to participate in pharmaceutical manufacturing under the PPP model. The implementation of such partnerships should be carried out swiftly and systematically, he said, in accordance with proper procedures.
Since pharmaceutical factories are producing life-saving medicines, the minister emphasized the importance of paying special attention to every stage of the production process to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability.
