A robbery occurred at a gold shop in Sethmu Myothit, Pyigyitagon Township, Mandalay Region and the owner was shot at about 1 pm on October 17, according to local sources.
Three unidentified men wearing black face masks arrived on a motorbike at Maw Thit Gold Shop at Industry (1) Market stalls and shot the female owner two times. They then broke the glass cupboards and took away gold chains, bracelets and hand chains.
“We heard the gold shop was robbed of over 100 gold chains, bracelets and hand chains. The shop owner was shot. Now, she has been sent to hospital. We don’t know exactly about the case because it is still under investigation,” said a nearby resident.
After taking the gold ware, the robbers opened fire on the CCTV cameras in the shop.
