Myanmar found 134 new COVID-19 patients, bringing the total number of patients to 3,636 and four more COVID-19 patients died on September 14 and 15 respectively, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports on September 16.

A total of 2,424 samples: 1,094 samples tested at National Health Laboratory in Yangon, 364 samples tested at Public Health Laboratory in Mandalay, 201 samples tested at Public Health Laboratory in Mawlamyaing, 199 samples tested at Public Health Laboratory in Taunggyi, 12 samples tested at Pathein general hospital, 16 samples tested at Hakha general hospital, and 538 samples tested at No.1 1000-Bed Military Hospital, were tested for the second batch of September 15 and found 134 new patients, it said.

Case-2347, an 88-year old woman receiving medical treatment at Waibargi Hospital, died in the afternoon of September 15 due to acute respiratory infection as she had hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Another one, Case-1589, an 89-year old woman receiving medical treatment at COVID-19 Treatment Center in Phaunggyi, died on September 15 due to acute respiratory infection as she had hypertension disease, it said.

Case-3122, a 51-year old man receiving medical treatment at Eastern District Hospital, died in the afternoon of September 14 due to acute respiratory infection as he had cardiovascular disease. Another one, Case-3258, a 68-year old man receiving medical treatment at Thanlyin Hospital, died in the evening of September 14 due to acute respiratory infection as she had asthma, hypertension and diabetes diseases, it said.

Death tolls in Myanmar caused by COVID-19 have reached 39 now.

A total of 4,597 samples are tested for September 15 and found 337 new COVID-19 patients, it said.
