The free fever clinics opened in Mandalay during the Covid-19 outbreak have stopped their operations as no one visits there, according to the Covid-19 response team of Myanmar Medical Association (Mandalay Region).
Of the four fever clinics in the city, the one in the health department compound in Aungmyaythazan Township by the Mandalay moat could not open as the area is blocked for security reasons. Meanwhile, other clinics had to close as they received no patients at all.
“We have no chance but to close those fever clinics because there is no patient at all. The one in Aungmyaythazan Township had to close due to blockade,” said a doctor from the Covid-19 response team.
The Myanmar Medical Association and Mandalay Region Public Health Department opened fever clinics in four of the five townships of Mandalay city to provide free healthcare services for the public during the Covid-19 outbreak. The clinics were staffed with volunteer doctors.
