FDI hits over 37 million dollars in late October

In late October of 2018-2019 fiscal year, the total foreign investments hit over US$ 37 million, according to a statement by Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).

During one month, Singapore topped the list of foreign investors with US$ 21.574 million, followed by Taiwan with over US$ five million.

The manufacturing sector stood first on the list of investment sectors with over US$ 13 million.

From October 1 to November 16 of this fiscal year, Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) allowed foreign investments worth over US$ 506 million including investment promotion.

The MIC gave the nod to 20 foreign investments worth US$ 49.023 million at its meeting held at the DICA’s office in Yangon on November 16.

These investments will create job opportunities for 10,719 citizens. The 20 foreign investments are: 15 in industrial sector and one each in livestock and fishery sector, hotel sector and other sector.

From October 1 to November 16, the MIC allowed 33 foreign investments worth US$ 388.812 million. Thanks to it, there will be 14,602 new jobs.

The FDI granted under the Special Economic Zone Law hit US$ 43.40 million from October 1 to November 16.

The total FDI between October 1 and November 16 reached US$ 506.86 million.
