Explosions occur in Ygn and NPT

YANGON----Serial explosions rocked at least eight townships in Yangon Region and Nay Pyi Taw on August 7th and 8th leaving many injuries, according to the locals.

After the National Unity Government declared “Peoples’ Defence Day” on September 7th, serial explosions had occurred in major cities such as Ahlon, Hlaing, South Dagon, Tharkayta and Thingangyun Townships in Yangon Region.

Likewise, the motorbike riders threw a bomb to the ward administration office in Shwe Kyar Pin ward in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, in the evening of September 7th.

“Unidentified motorbike riders threw a bomb to the ward administration office. But, a bomb did not explode. After explosion, the police vehicles arrived at the incident and they patrolled around the ward. So, the shops in the ward closed early. No one dare to open the shops until the mid-night,” said a local from Shwe Kyar Pin Ward.

The security forces are now searching the motorcycle riders who threw the bomb through the CCTV footage near the ward administration office.

Similarly, an explosion occurred near traffic police outpost in upper Kyimyindaing road in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region, yesterday morning. On the same day, a blast took place near administration office in Yeiktha Ward in Hlegue Township, Yangon Region and a male helper of an office got the injuries.
