Eleven Media Group, together with other benefactors donated 6000 gallons of much needed water to Theibon (East) village and monastery in Yesagyo township.

In this Theibon (East) village there was a bit of rain two months back,   and the pond used for drinking water was filled with a little water, but with no additional rain the pond dried up and the people wrre in difficulty for water.

Eleven Media Group and benefactors together donated 4500 gallons of water to 117 households in Theibon (East) village in Yazagyo township, 500 gallons to the monastery, and 1000 gallons to people living in 7 huts in a plantation.

Ko Zaw Min from Theibon village said that due to the rain in the months of Kason and Nayon the pond was filled with a little water. The village people relied on that water only  and now in the month of Tawthalin there is no more water in the pond. Being an earthen pond further digging produced a bit of water, but now even that water has dried up. The water from the artesian well is salty, and water from the pond was used for drinking and cooking. Now that there is no more water in the pond we are in difficulty.

As it is the period for prevention of COVID-19 to prevent crowding when distributing water, water is given in turns, and people are made to wear masks, and each household is given 40 gallons of water.

U Tharzaw, a villager from Theibon, said that in the previous years there was no drought. There was no drying of the pond in October. This year the start and mid season rain was very poor. Late rains too are not promising. That is why the pond water has dried up. If late rains are good there won't be a water shortage in the coming summer, but if the rains are poor then there will be difficulty for drinking and cooking water.

Eleven Media Group and benefactors have yearly donated water to water-scarce villages in Pakokku and Nyaung U districts, and thus year distribution of water is continuing till late rainy season because of drought.

In 2020 areas around Pakhokku region experienced drought more than the previous year, and due to poor yield the peasants are in great difficulty.
