Elephant Electrocuted During Donation Procession in Kyaukse

An elephant taking part in a donation procession in Kyaukse Township was electrocuted and died, according to reports.

The incident occurred on the morning of March 14 in Letwezu Village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region.

The elephant belonged to the Shwe Zabu Aung troupe. At the time of the incident, the donor woman and her daughter were riding on the elephant along with the mahout.

Due to the electric shock, the donor and her daughter lost consciousness, while the mahout initially fainted but later regained consciousness.

The elephant, named Phale Na Che, was electrocuted and fell into a drainage canal, where it died.
