The final negotiation meeting regarding the second amendment to the counter-terrorism law (draft) was held on August 21 at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was attended by the Union Minister for Legal Affairs and the Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General Dr. Htein Lin Oo, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Major General Toe Yi, Director General of the Draft Law Verification Department Dr. Thida San and other officials.

At the meeting, the Union Minister for Legal Affairs gave opening remarks, and the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs discussed that the second amendment law (draft) of the Counter-Terrorism Law was drawn up in order to be able to implement one of the points related to the financial action issued by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). If this amended law can be enacted, it will be possible to implement a statement issued by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), as it will be able to show Myanmar's progress and help overcome the possibility of being added to the counter measure list. The group led by the Union Minister for Legal Affairs concluded that the law (draft) amending the Counter-Terrorism Law for the second time was a necessary law for the state to enact, and discussed the feasibility of its implementation.
