It has been reported that a doctor and his wife were killed, and two others at the clinic were seriously injured in a stabbing incident at a home clinic in Hinthada.

The incident occurred on the evening of September 8 at the dental and oral surgery clinic of Dr. Tin Maung Tun, located on Parse Street in Thone Bin Kwin Ward, Hinthada.

In this incident, the doctor, his wife's aunt, and a clinic assistant sustained stab wounds inside the home clinic. The doctor's wife was found dead in the compound in front of the clinic, having also suffered stab wounds.

The doctor's wife, aged 49, sustained one stab wound to the left flank and one incised wound on the left cheek, and was pronounced dead in the compound in front of the clinic.

The dentist, Dr. Tin Maung Tun, aged 71, who passed away after being transported to the hospital, sustained two stab wounds to the left side of the neck, one incised wound on the left cheek, and one incised wound on the left arm.

A 72-year-old woman who was transported to the hospital sustained one incised wound approximately two inches long on the left shoulder, one incised wound on the right flank, and one incised wound on the back. The other injured person, a 43-year-old woman, sustained one incised wound approximately two inches long on the left cheek, one incised wound on the nape of the neck, one incised wound on the left shoulder, and one incised wound on the left wrist.

An initial investigation by authorities reveals that an unidentified perpetrator, who had come to the dental clinic for treatment, got into an argument after leaving without paying for the service, and then returned to stab the people at the clinic, including the doctor, with a knife.

The perpetrator used a knife he had brought with him to commit the crime. The reasons behind the incident are still under investigation, and relevant authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend the suspect as quickly as possible.

Regarding this case, a formal complaint has been registered at the Hinthada Township Police Station under case reference No. 6/2025, (P)232/2025, under sections 302/326 of the Myanmar Penal Code, and investigations are ongoing.
