DMH warns public against health problems due to rain clouds

YANGON- As temperature increase occurred in the summer caused the rainclouds, lighting and strong wind, people are warned of health issues, says Dr Kyaw Moe Oo, Director-General of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

“This summer isn’t El Nino year. So, the temperature isn’t very high. However, the temperature will be increased than the previous because of global warming. Therefore, people are needed to warn against untimely rain, lightning and strong wind due to rainclouds,” said Dr Kyaw Moe Oo.

He also said that the day temperature increased in April. So, people were warned against the storms and low pressure happening in the Bay of Bengal in April.

In Myanmar, the highest temperatures are always in April and May. It caused the rainclouds which left the heavy rain, strong wind, lightning and hailstones.

Moreover, these clouds also produced other dangerous weather phenomena including thunder strikes.
