DMH warns of unseasonal rain, strong winds across Myanmar from April 4 to 11

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued a warning that sporadic rain and strong winds are likely to occur in Tanintharyi, Kayin and Mon from April 4 to 5, and in seven other regions and four other states from April 6 to 11.

As a warning of the possibility of sporadic rain, due to the interaction of warm air from the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal with cold air moving from the high pressure area over mainland China, and the intensity of the whirlwinds moving from the east, rains or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Tanintharyi Region, Kayin and Mon states from April 4 to 5, and isolated to scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyawady regions, Kayah state, Chin state, Rakhine state and Shan states from April 6 to 11, and fairly widespread in Tanintharyi Region and Kachin, Kayin and Mon states.

The public is advised to be aware of the possibility of unseasonal rain accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, thunderbolts and hail.
