The opening ceremony of the Hindu Diwali festival was held at the National Theatre on Myoma Kyaung Street, Yangon, at 6 pm on October 17.
The ceremony was attended by the Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, government officials, officials from the Indian Embassy, officials from the Myanmar-India Friendship Association, and Hindu religious and social organizations.
