KISSAPA- A Dinet ethnic youth from Aungzan village, northern Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, was found stabbed to death on the Khamaung Seik-Wailar mountain road in the evening of October 8th.

The 15 years old Dinet boy Hlaing Min Aung @ Harli Yar Too went to Khamaung Seik Township in the morning of October 8th in order to get some maintenance done to his motorbike.

While he reportedly headed back to the village via the aforementioned motorbike in the evening, he didn’t arrive home. He was later found dead with knife wounds near the local school and Anaw Mosque in Tonechaung village. His motorbike was also destroyed.

“He was a Grade-VIII student. During the holidays, he ferried the passengers by his motorbike. In the morning of October 8th, he accompanied by his friend went to Khamaung Seik to get some maintenance done to his motorbike. We learnt that he left Khamaung Seik around 4pm. His father informed  us at around 8pm that his son didn’t come home. So, we together with towns-elders went to search for him and found the body with knife wounds. Now, we are planning to carry the body to Maungdaw Township and begin investigating the murder case,” said Kyaing Hla, administrator of Aung Zan village.

The incident where the body was found is about 3-miles away from the border. Bengali terrorists and bandits have been frequenting areas not too far from the border to rob, kill and terrorize people living around those parts, even those of the same race. The locals have urged the authorities to carry out stricter security arrangements and easy transportation access.
