He died this morning because of his underlying health conditions,” said Major General Zaw Min Tun, leader of the information team of the State Administration Council.

Another NLD’s CEC member Han Tha Myint is also receiving treatment at YGH after being infected with Covid-19 in Insein prison.

Likewise, NLD’s CEC member Phyo Min Thein, who served as Yangon Region chief minister, was infected with the virus and received treatment at a military hospital. As he has relieved, he has been sent to a military hostel.

“U Phyo Min Thein received treatment at the defence services hospital. He has already been discharged from hospital. He is now receiving special care at a military hostel,” said the major general.
