Delegation led by LDU arrives in NPT to hold peace talks with SAC chair

NayPYITAW-----At the invitation of Chairman of State Administration Council (SAC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for peace talks, a delegation led by General Secretary Kyar Solomon of the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) arrived in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They were seen off at the Nay Pyi Taw airport by members of the National Solidarity and Peace-Making Negotiation Committee and other responsible personnel, and members of the national races from the Fine Arts Department and Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture as well as locals holding signboards stating “ Perpetual peace is the real aspiration of the people”, “ Achieving peace is the true desire of all citizens”, “ Let’s hold talks for peace in the Union”, “ Only the ethnic nationalities are in unity, stability, peace and tranquility will be achieved” and waving miniature national flags.

The LDU delegation will meet with the SAC’s chairman in Nay Pyi Taw today aiming to negotiate peace process.

On April 22 Senior General Min Aung Hlaing invited the ethnic armed organizations to achieve peace and bring an end to all conflicts. Accordingly seven EAOs that have signed the NCA and three others that have not signed the NCA responded to the invitation, as mentioned the spokesperson of the State Administration Council Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
