According to the Ministry of Health and Sports, there had been 722 patients infected with COVID-19 virus, and that as of now almost no new cases in Rakhine State.



From 16 Aug. To 14 Sept. there had been 401 cases in Sittwe township, 97 cases in Kyaukphyu township, 45 cases in Pauktaw township, 26 cases in Minbya township, 27 cases in Kyauktaw township, 24 cases in Maungdaw township, 23 cases in Myaybon township, 22 cases in Myaukoo township, 19 cases in Ponnakyun township, 13 cades in Buthitaung township, 9 cases in Thandwe township, 8 cases in Taunghok township, 3 cases in Aan township, 2 cases in Yanbye township, 1 case in Gwa township, 1 case in Manaung township, and 1 case in Yathetaung township, totalling 722 cases. Between 13th and 14th of Sept. there had been 3 new cases in Sittwe township, and in Myaukoo township there had been 2 new cases, and no new cases in remaining townships.



Up till 9 Sept., of all the patients affected by COVID-19 virus, no virus was detected in them, and 77 patients had been discharged from hospital.



Of the more than 300 patients taking treatment in Sittwe General Hospital, those found to be Negative after being tested twice and were discharged on 8 September.



Those that had been discharged will have to stay at home for a week, and follow the regulations laid down. Of those discharged, there were 39 females, 25 males, and monks were included. On 5 Sept. 10 were discharged. On 7 Sept. 3 were discharged from Sittwe hospital.



From 16 Aug. to 9 Sept. in the entire Rakhine State there had been 570 persons infectedcby COVID-19 virus.



About 160 patients will be discharged from hospital on 14 Sept., it is learnt.



Discharge certificates were given to the patients in a ceremony attended by the chief doctor, other doctors, nurses, and medical staff. There were also patients discharged from hospitals in Kyaukphyu, Minbyar and other places.

At the moment  the COVID-19 situation in Yangon the number of cases keeps increasing. Today 200 have been estimated. Previously it was 30, then 60, then 150, and now it is 200. That shows that the ascent has not stopped. It will keep on climbing, Dr Zaw Wei Soe, deputy president of the coordination committee for the prevention of COVID-19.



As Yangon has the most number of cases, health workers and staff from Magwe Region and other places are being sent to reinforce the Yangon Region health staff.
