Covid-19 infection rate in Myanmar has reached nearly 30 percent with 236 deaths in seven days from July 1 to 7, according to the ministry of health and sports.
There were 13 deaths on July 1 that saw over 20 percent infection rate, 17 deaths on July 2, 20 deaths on July 3, 35 deaths on July 4, 42 deaths on July 5, 52 deaths on July 6 and 57 deaths on July 7 totalling 236.
Currently, daily cases on the increase with 3,947 Covid-19 patients on July 7. Within 42 days from May 27 since the country saw high infection rate again to July 7, 32,613 cases were reported.
There were 96 Covid-19 cases on May 27, 72 on May 28, 40 on May 29, 45 on May 30, 58 on May 31, 122 on June 1, 72 on June 2, 122 on June 3, 212 on June 4, 96 on June 5, 64 on June 6, 139 on June 7, 123 on June 8, 136 on June 9, 161 on June 10, 188 on June 11, 166 on June 12, 373 on June 13, 223 on June 14, 225 on June 15, 355 on June 16, 362 on June 17, 301 on June 18, 561 on June 19, 407 on June 20, 595 on June 21, 630 on June 22, 680 on June 23, 787 on June 24, 859 on June 25, 783 on June 26, 804 on June 27, 1,225 on June 28, 1,312 on June 29, 1,580 on June 30, 2,070 on July 1, 1,863 on July 2, 1,877 on July 3, 2,318 on July 4, 2,969 on July 5, 3,602 on July 6 and 3,947 on July 7.
The infection rate depending on daily testinh was 5.37 percent on May 27 and it has reached 28.07 percent on July 6.
Myanmar has seen new variants of Covid-19 such as Alpha and Delta which are variants of concern and Kappa which is a variant of interest.
Since the first wave of the Covid-19 outbreak, Myanmar has reported 175,923 cases and 3,570 deaths. Of the reported cases, 141,255 patients have been discharged from hospital after their recovery.
