Chinese Consulate General donates protective equipment for Myanmar

MANDALAY-In the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Mandalay yesterday donated protective equipment to Myanmar.

The donation including surgical masks and hand sanitizer which will be used in aviation, immigration, customs and Quarantine departments in the Tada-U International Airport, Mandalay, were handed over.

“After the Coronavirus outbreak hit China, we thanked the global countries especially Myanmar for their assistance. With the help of the departments in airports across Myanmar, we, the Consulate General Office, sent over 100 Chinese visitors to their country. That’s why, we also thanked aviation officers and donated protective equipment for them,” said Khin Sein, Consul General from Consulate General of PRC in Mandalay.

Mostly direct flights to China passed through the Tada-U International Airport, Mandalay.

Since the beginning of January, the flights from Mandalay to China were temporarily cancelled. But, there have been arrivals of international travelers. That’s why the Airport authorities are now carrying out health screening to the visitors.
