Till the morning of 16 Sept. It has been known that there have 52 confirmed VOVID-19 cases in Ayeyarwady Region, and should the number of patients keep increasing, the Ayeyarwady soccer team stadium in Pathein is to be converted into an emergency hospital.
Townshipwise, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases is as follows: 10 in Pathein township, 2 in Kangyidaunk township, 1 in Tharbaung township, 1 in Kyonpyaw township, 10 in Kyaunggon township, 2 in Kyankhin township, 1 in Ingapu township, 1 in Myaungmya township, 1 in Einme township, 1 in Warkhema township, 4 in Maubin township, 1 in Pantanaw township, 1 in Ngyaungdin township, 1 in Danuphyu township, 2 in Bogalay township, totalling 52 cases. Of the patients found in Kyaunygon township, the regional government said that one patient is a high grade nurse and one is a medical officer.
The Isolation Ward set up as plan A to treat COVID-19 affected patients from Ayeyarwady Region is now full and the room prepared as Plan B is being used now. Should the number of cases keep increasing, arrangements are being mafe to convert the Ayeyarwady soccer team stadium into an emergency hospital. If the number of confirmed cases arise, than as Plan C, the two-storey building of Pathein Indiginous Hospital is being mafe ready. This place can accomodate 96 patients. As Plan D, the Ayeyarwady Football Academy School of Ayeyarwady soccer team has been prepared, and this school can accomodate 30 patients. If the number of patients increase gurther more then, as Plan E, temporary emergengy hospital will be put up in the football field, as disclosed by Dr Than Min Htut, chief medical officer of Pathein District Hospital.
As of 8 o'clock on 16 Sept. the number of patients being treated in the hospitals of the Region is: 26 confirmed patients in Pathein District hospital, 3 confirmed patients in Hinthada District hospital, 2 confirmed patients in Myaungmya District hospital, 5 confirmed patients in Maubin District hospital, 11 confirmed patients in Phyapon District hospital, and 2 confirmef patients in Bogalay District hospital. Those that have had contact with these confirmed patients are kept in Facility Quarantine and tests are being conducted on them.
