YANGON-Ayeyarwady Foundation will be extending its Quarantine centre to 770-bedded COVID-19 Critical Care Unit, according to the foundation.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Sports, Professor Dr Zaw Wai Soe, Vice-Chairman of Yangon Region COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment Coordination Committee, Professor Dr Myint Myint Nyein (Committee’s Secretary) and Ayeyarwady Foundation Chairman Zaw Zaw carried out the project which include plans for Centre A, B and C.
Currently, Ayeyarwady Centre A is set up with 425 beds at the Thuwana Artificial Turf Stadium in Thingangyun Township.
Centre B will have 270 beds and is being built in Thuwana Youth Training Camp and Plan C namely as a Critical Care Unit will have 75 beds in Thuwana Stadium.
Authorities are now striving to accept patients at Centers B and C by the end of September.
At present, Ayeyarwady Centre A is providing medical treatments to the asymptomatic patients.
Medical Superintendent Dr Kaung Myat Soe from Ayeyarwady Centre A said that the Centre A is nearly full with the patients.
Accommodation facilities are being carried out for350 workers and volunteers at the three centers. With the aim to provide the needs for the whole centre, the management office has already been opened at the headquarter of Myanmar Football Federation.
Moreover, the Ayeyarwady Foundation has been offering assistance for medical equipment, accommodation and food to health personnel, volunteers and the public.
