The body of a Myanmar citizen, who was one of the three people trapped in the collapse of a railway tunnel under construction in Thailand, has been found, according to the Bangkok Post.

Rescue workers from the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and a team from China's Hunan Sunshine found the body of the Myanmar truck driver at 11 am on August 29, according to SRT head of administration Ekkarat Sriarayanpong.

Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum confirmed that the man's body was found under a pile of dirt and rocks near the truck.

The name of the deceased Myanmar citizen has not yet been confirmed. Mr Ekkarat said SRT is ready to help his family.

In addition, the remaining two people are Chinese, one is a construction supervisor and the other is a driver. The Bangkok Post reported that they have received critical information about them and are continuing to search for more rescue dogs.

Disaster Response Associations Thailand (DRAT) said the Chinese engineering team reinforced the structure of the collapsed tunnel to ensure the safety of rescuers.

Rocks and soil blocking the way in the collapsing tunnel have been cleared, and sensors have been installed on the tunnel ceiling to monitor the collapse and ensure safety.

The tunnel collapsed on August 24, and a total of three people, a Myanmar national and two Chinese nationals, were trapped.

The tunnel is part of the Sino-Thai high-speed railway being built between Bangkok and Nong Khai Province, which borders Laos. The collapse started about 1.5 kilometers from the tunnel entrance near the Khanan Chit train station in Tambon Chan Thuek, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
