Yangon—Ministry of Education will start checking matric answer papers on 5 June, Dr. Thein Win, Director-General of Higher Education Department told the Daily Eleven on 20 May. 

“The checking of answer papers will be carried out in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Health and Sports,” he added.

On 19 May, the Higher Education Department issued a statement on the sending of teachers from universities, degree colleges and colleges to the relevant universities where the matric answer papers will be checked. Teachers assigned shall report to the relevant university exam checking centers not later than 3 June. 

Normally, the checking of matric answer papers takes place in the last week of March. 

The ministry is unable to check the answer papers due to the spread of COVID-19.
