Daytime Temperature in Ann Township in Rakhine State set a record high of 40.5 degree centigrade on 13 March after breaking its old record of 40 degree centigrade set in March last year, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

U Hla Tun, Deputy Head of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology said: “Temperature in March set a new record last year and this year.”

“There is no El Nino effect this year. It is due to the global warming. It is linked to deforestation in Myanmar,” U Hla Tun added.
