There is no complaint against the corruption of drug cases, says spokesperson Kyaw Soe from Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

“At present, we don’t receive the complaints against corruption of drug cases,” said Kyaw Soe.

However, the former ACC took action against the in-charge of anti-drug unit from Thahtone District at the ex-government led by President Thein Sein. He committed the corruption among the child drug user. 

The ACC had received totaling 10,543 complaints last year. Among the complaints, there were 75% of complaints against the civil servants.

“We found that the youths were charged with drug related cases at the courts. So, some civil servants committed the corruption after taking the lessons to the weak points of rules and regulations of the law. Especially, some police members, judicial staff and judges ignored the drug related cases by taking the money and then they made unfair decisions. Mainly, the drug related cases are the best to commit corruption,” said Law Expert Nyo Nyo Thin who was former MP from Yangon Region.

The MPs from Yangon Region criticized that there were many corruptions over the drug cases. Moreover, some police members had informed the drug dealers. So, they had never been arrested.

The President Win Myint gave first priority over combating of narcotic drugs and corruptions which are now spreading across the nation.
