About 17 million kyats’ worth of ketamine seized in Tachilek

Psychotropic substances (ketamine) worth about 17 million kyats were seized in Tachilek, eastern Shan State, according to the information released by the Anti-Drug Squad on 13 June. 

At about 8pm on June 12, acting on a tipoff, members of the anti-drug squad along with witnesses stopped and searched a motorcycle near Wanmai village in Sansaing ward, Tachilek, driven by Sai Khan Hla in accompany with Sai Lin (a) Sai Saing Lwin.

Upon searching, about 17 million kyats’ worth of ketamine weighing 2 kilos, and two mobile phones hidden inside the motorbike were found and seized.

Sai Khan Hla, aged 33, and Sai Lin (a) Sai Saing Lwin, 26, were booked at Tachilek Police Station under the Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act, and efforts are underway to find links to the crime.
