A series of blasts occurred in some places of Mandalay including its mayor’s home on April 27, sources said.

The blast occurred at the mayor’s home located at the corner of 70 Street and 32 Street in Chanayetharzan Township around 7 am.

“I heard a loud explosion next to the compound where I sent a patient to Tawwin Hospital,” said a driver.

The Mayor, Kyaw San, lived in the place where the explosion occurred and it was allegedly caused by a handmade bomb. No casualties were reported.

More explosions occurred in some offices in Mandalay after 2 pm.
