A debris, assumed to be a part of a satellite, landed on a kitchen of a house in Hmawpone Village, Hpakant Township in Kachin State on September 19, according to locals.

It is 15 feet in length and seven feet in width.

No one was injured in the accident.

“The satellite part is fallen in circle from the sky around 1:30 pm. Villagers are crowded around to look at it. We are lucky that it is not fallen directly to our homes. We smelled acrid fumes from it and found wires attached to it,” said a witness Zaw Win Maung.

Members of the township administration committee and village administration committee are inspecting it.

In 2016, parts fallen from a satellite fell back to the earth and landed at Hmawsisar village tract, Kachin State.
