73 more test positive for Covid-19, six more die

A total of 73 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the second batch samples for September 16 and six more patients including a 13-year-old girl died, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am today.

In the second batch for September 16, 2,599 samples were tested – 1,051 by the National Health Laboratory (Yangon), 94 by the Department of Medical Research, 391 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mandalay), 132 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine), 15 by Pathein People’s Hospital, 41 by Nay Pyi Taw People’s Hospital (1000-bed), 600 by No (1) Defence Services Hospital (1000-bed) and 275 by No (2) Defence Services Hospital (1000-bed). Among them, 73 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

Moreover, six more patients died including a 13-year-old girl suffering from a blood-related disease.

In the first batch for September 16, 185 cases were reported so the whole day saw 258 cases.

Myanmar has so far seen 3,894 Covid-19 cases and 46 deaths.
