A letter of threat and a bullet each were sent to seven teachers of the basic education high school in Htaukkyant Village, Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, according to a press release issued by the information team of the Sate Administration Council on July 19.

The statement said the terrorists were resorting to various ways to jeopardize Myanmar’s education sector with intent to make the youths of future generation lose their educational rights and opportunities. 

As such, the terrorists sent the homes of seven teachers serving at the basic education school in Htaukkyant Village a letter of threat and a bullet each. The letter says it is a final warning that the teachers must join the CDM (civil disobedience movement) by not going to school or will face severe punishment. Each letter encloses a bullet, the SAC information team reported.

The statement also said that papers bearing words of threat were stuck at a high school in Putao, Kachin State, and at basic education high school No.2 in Kyaukmyaung, Tamway Township, Yangon, on July 17.

Security forces are conducting investigations to expose and take action against those involved, the statement added.
