Yangon--Seven Myanmar students with a travel history to Daegu in South Korea are being isolated at Waibargi Hospital in Yangon, though they have had no close contact with the Covid-19 confirmed patient.

They are being monitored at the hospital for 14 days though they show no symptom of Covid-19.

They arrived at Yangon International Airport via Seoul of South Korea on the morning of 28 February.

According to the WHO’s case definition, it needs to review the travel history of those who came back from the virus-affected countries in addition to China. The number of suspected patients is likely to increase.

On 28 February, the WHO raised the global risk level from Covid-19 to “Very High”.

As a measure to effectively carry out the prevention and control of virus, Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports designated COVID-19 as "principal epidemic disease" or "notifiable disease".

Though there is no confirmed case in Myanmar, the clusters of virus infections may be detected simultaneously. The ministry has urged the public to abide by the ministry’s instructions and to avoid public gatherings and events.
