Reports circulating on social media and some online media outlets claiming that new K50,000 banknotes will be issued are false, Deputy Minister Dr Khine Khine Soe, spokesperson for the President’s Office, clarified on the afternoon of October 17.
She said the reports about the issuance of new K50,000 banknotes, which have been circulating online, were false.
The public has therefore been urged to verify financial information through official announcements issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar and relevant authorities, and to cooperate in preventing unnecessary public concern caused by misinformation, Dr Khine Khine Soe said.
