Twenty-two passengers were injured after a passenger Express bus overturned near Milepost 15 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway on the afternoon of September 2, according to the Fire Services Department.
The accident occurred at around 2:06 pm. near Milepost 15 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. Following reports of the incident, firefighters from the Hlegu Township Fire Station and the 11-Mile Expressway Fire Station responded to the scene with two fire engines and carried out rescue operations.
A total of 27 people, 14 men and 13 women, were on board the Express bus. Among them, 22 passengers, including all 14 men and eight women, sustained injuries.
Red Cross ambulances transported the injured passengers to Hlegu Township People’s Hospital for medical treatment.
Relevant authorities are continuing to provide the necessary rescue assistance and emergency services in connection with the incident.
