Thailand’s newly appointed ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Tor Saralamba, presented his credentials to President U Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Residence in Nay Pyi Taw on August 28, according to a statement.

Before the ceremony, Saralamba was accorded a ceremonial welcome, including a salute to the flags of Myanmar and Thailand and the playing of the two countries’ national anthems by an honour guard.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed strengthening Myanmar-Thailand relations, including friendship and cooperation, trade and investment, and the development of border trade.

They also discussed enhancing cooperation on security and stability along the border, as well as continued bilateral engagement under the multiparty democratic process.

The two sides further exchanged views on possible reciprocal state-level visits to promote relations and cooperation between the neighbouring countries.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister at the Office of the President U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Director-General of the Protocol Department U Thet Tun, and Thai Ambassador Saralamba and his wife, along with other officials.
