The results of the 2026 matriculation examination were released on the morning of June 28, with the nationwide pass rate reaching 52.37 percent.
A total of 255,228 candidates sat for this year's matriculation examination across the country, of whom 133,673 passed.
The highest scorer in the 2026 matriculation examination was Ma Thiri Soe from Chanayethazan Township, who achieved 562 marks in the science stream subjects.
The pass rates by region and state were as follows: Kachin State recorded 6,330 successful candidates out of 11,634 examinees; Kayah State 234 out of 471; Kayin State 1,687 out of 3,660; Chin State 161 out of 843; Sagaing Region 5,905 out of 12,526; Tanintharyi Region 2,764 out of 5,991; Nay Pyi Taw 7,021 out of 14,131; Bago Region (East) 7,243 out of 14,627; Bago Region (West) 7,072 out of 11,866; Magway Region 12,390 out of 22,219; Mandalay Region 28,393 out of 45,635; Mon State 5,924 out of 10,542; Rakhine State 820 out of 1,692; Yangon Region 23,203 out of 46,889; Shan State (South) 6,537 out of 13,383; Shan State (North) 735 out of 1,687; Shan State (East) 726 out of 1,772; Ayeyawady Region 16,507 out of 36,436; and 21 out of 24 candidates sitting overseas also passed.
Candidates can access their results through the Myanmar Examinations Department website at www.myanmarexam.org from 4 am on June 28. Results can also be searched directly by seat number via www.result.dme.gov.mm.
In addition to the online publication of results, examination results for centres in remote areas or locations with limited internet access are being announced through Myanma Radio on the day of the release.
The Department of Myanmar Examinations has also announced that members of the public may contact the department on June 28 should they have any questions or require clarification regarding the examination results.
