Myanmar and India Sign MoU to Supply Laboratory Equipment to Naypyitaw State Academy

An MoU signing ceremony between the governments of Myanmar and India to support the provision of laboratory equipment for Naypyitaw State Academy was held on the morning of February 9 at the academy in Nay Pyi Taw.

The event was attended by Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint, directors-general from relevant departments, the Rector of Naypyitaw State Academy, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Abhay Thakur, and other responsible officials from the Indian side.

During the ceremony, the Indian Ambassador explained that the MoU aims to strengthen educational cooperation between Myanmar and India, further enhance bilateral relations, and support Myanmar’s educational development by providing essential laboratory materials needed for research activities.

The MoU was then signed by the Deputy Minister and the Indian Ambassador.

In her remarks, the Union Minister for Education said that the signing of the MoU to provide laboratory equipment for Naypyitaw State Academy represents a meaningful outcome of the partnership between Myanmar and India and expressed confidence that the project would be implemented effectively and successfully.

Through the MoU, modern equipment including physics and chemistry laboratory materials, scientific research items, laboratory instruments, and supporting software will be provided. These supplies are expected to assist teaching, learning, and research activities at Naypyitaw State Academy. The Union Minister also expressed appreciation, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, to the Government of India and all those involved in the cooperation.

On behalf of the Union Minister, the Rector of Naypyitaw State Academy, Dr. Nu Nu Lwin, presented a commemorative gift to the Indian Ambassador, who in turn presented souvenirs to the Union Minister and Deputy Minister.
