Sithu (Plut Kyut) has been defrauding more than 300 Myanmar workers in Thailand of large sums of money with fake pink ID card scheme, according to Myanmar workers in Thailand.
It is reported that since more than two weeks ago, he has stopped contacting those who deposited money in order to obtain a pink ID card in Thailand.
“It has been about two weeks. I still can’t contact him. He was posting on TikTok, but I can’t contact him at all,” said a person who paid Sithu (Plut Kyut) to obtain a pink ID card.
Sithu (Plut Kyut) is said to have received more than five thousand baht to more than 13,000 baht per person to obtain a pink ID card. Some have paid in full, while others have paid more than five thousand.
“This is a scam. The money given to obtain a pink ID card is not refunded at all. It is more important to obtain a pink ID card than to get a refund,” said a Myanmar worker.
In this case, Sithu (Plut Kyut) posted on his TikTok account that he had lost money due to gambling, and that he was working as a representative of the Five Million Company in Thailand, and that the company would pay him 1.4 million baht and that the company would be responsible for 364 workers.
Some people, who paid for the pink ID card, post comments on the TikTok account posted by Sithu Plapkyut and asked, but no response has been made yet.
The owner of the Five Million Company said that Sithu (Plut Kyut) had not paid the remaining money on the TikTok account, and that the company would be responsible for those who had deposited money with the company.
Myanmar workers in Thailand say that they are often scammed by brokers and lose money.
Myanmar workers who work in Thailand must first apply for a pink card (locally known as a baht card) to be able to legally live and work, and once they receive this card, they must apply for a work permit. After that, they have to apply for a CI card.
