In the UFC Flyweight Championship bout, Chin ethnic Myanmar MMA fighter Joshua Van defeated reigning champion Pantoja to claim the UFC Flyweight title.
At 26 seconds into the first round, Pantoja attacked Joshua Van with a kick but injured his hand during the exchange and was unable to continue, resulting in his loss.
At just 24 years old, Joshua Van has become the first champion in the UFC born in the 21st century, setting a new record for the organization.
Van became champion after competing in ten UFC fights, winning nine of them—including his last six consecutive victories—and losing only once.
He also made history by becoming the UFC’s first Asian-born and Myanmar-born champion.
