Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, met with Mr. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, at the Jin Jiang Hotel on the evening of September 6.

At the meeting, they cordially discussed the improvement of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and measures to promote trade and cooperation between Sichuan Province and Myanmar. They also frankly exchanged views on sending of aid teams by Sichuan Province to Myanmar at a time when the devastating Mandalay earthquake caused loss and damage, and cooperation in agriculture, livestock and industrial sectors between Sichuan Province and Myanmar.

Also, present at the meeting were Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Commission members, Union ministers and the Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. 

After the meeting, the Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China hosted a dinner in honour of the high-level Myanmar delegation led by the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
