Acting President of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently on a working visit to China, met with Mr Xu Qin, Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, at 6 pm on September 4 evening.
They discussed matters on boosting trade and cooperation in other sectors. Discussions focused on the successful hosting of the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the parade marking the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Both sides also highlighted 75 years of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pauk-Phaw friendship.
They further exchanged views on advancing cooperation in agriculture, livestock, education, and culture. Topics included the development of universities and colleges in Heilongjiang, opportunities for Myanmar scholarship students, export of Myanmar crops, technology exchange in agriculture and livestock sectors, and expansion of bilateral trade and cooperation in other sectors.
Also attending the meeting were Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Commission members, Union Ministers, and the Myanmar Ambassador to China. Mr Xu Qin was accompanied by provincial cabinet members, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia, and other officials.
