MAJA suspends online applications for Yangon and Mandalay JLPT N1, N2, N5 levels due to lack of seats

The online application process for the examination of Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has been suspended due to the lack of seats available for the Yangon N1, N2, N5 and Mandalay N1, N2, N5 Levels, announced the Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA), the committee to hold JLPT exam in Myanmar.

The second round of applications for all levels for the December 2025 JLPT examination is being extended. As of 1:20 pm on August 21, the number of seats available for the Yangon N1, N2, N5 and Mandalay N1, N2, N5 Levels has been suspended due to the lack of seats. The application process will continue for the remaining Yangon N3, N4 Levels and Mandalay N3, N4 Levels. The application process will end when the number of seats for the N3 and N4 Levels is fully reserved, according to the announcement by the MAJA.

The MAJA announced on August 18 that it has extended the application period for the JLPT exam to be held in December.

Individual applicants for the December 2025 exam were accepted from August 4 to 14, but due to the increased number of seats available at the test centers, the application period for individual applications has been extended to August 21 and 22 from 9 am to 3 pm.
