Myanmar domestic worker stabs fellow countrywoman to death in Oman

A Myanmar domestic worker allegedly stabbed and killed another Myanmar woman in Oman, according to sources within the Myanmar migrant worker community in the country.

The incident occurred on July 6 in Sohar, Oman. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Ma Yu Nandar, worked as a mediator between employers and domestic helpers. She was originally from Myanaung Township in Ayeyarwady Region.

The suspect, a 38-year-old Myanmar domestic worker, reportedly arrived in Oman on July 1 and is from Thanlyin Township in Yangon Region.

Omani news reports confirm that the perpetrator has been arrested. Sources within the Myanmar community suggest the attack stemmed from personal grievances.
