The Mandalay University Centennial Celebration Ceremony was held in front of the Mandalay University Engineering Building (Red Brick Building) in Mandalay from 9 am to 12 pm on July 4.

The Mandalay University Centennial Celebration Committee, which is composed of retired teachers, town elders from Mandalay, and former students, celebrated the centennial of Mandalay University by selling commemorative magazines and memorabilia, displaying historical records, photographs, and paintings, and hosting a banquet.

"Today is the centennial celebration. A grander event, the national level event, will be held in October. There will be a deification of teachers to honor more than 700 teachers and professors from all disciplines at Mandalay University who are over 70 years old. There will be musical events, which will be held in conjunction with the event. There will also be other fun events. There will also be grand events," said an official at the event.

Mandalay University was opened on July 4, 1925, and will celebrate its 100th anniversary on July 4, 2025.

It is understood that a very strong earthquake occurred on the afternoon of March 28, 2025, causing damage to the main building of Mandalay University, causing a fire, and other buildings were also damaged. The main building is currently undergoing repairs.
