Myanmar and UAE discuss investment in Myanmar’s offshore blocks and energy sector, according to sources.

On June 24, Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin met with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Mr. Mutaz Abdullah Abduljaleel Mohamed AI Faheem, at Yay Nant Thar Hall, Ministry of Energy in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, they discussed investment in Myanmar’s offshore blocks with promising and well-guaranteed potential, signing of the Myanmar-UAE Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement and the Myanmar-UAE Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement for bilateral investment and economic relations, promoting investment and economic relations between Myanmar and the UAE, and cooperation in other economic matters besides the energy sector.

The meeting was attended by the Directors General and Managing Directors of the departments and businesses under the Ministry.
