Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council(SAC) emphasized the importance of continued cooperation to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of strategic projects along the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.

He made the remarks this morning (June 8) at the celebration marking the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations, held at the Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

In his speech, the Senior General noted that Myanmar occupies a geopolitically significant location in China's neighborhood and is a key partner in the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor. He expressed belief that the swift realization of projects under this framework could bring long-term prosperity and opportunities for the peoples of both nations. He urged for continued collaboration to implement these strategic projects seamlessly.

He expressed gratitude for China’s longstanding support and goodwill toward Myanmar, including its backing on international platforms and its assistance in Myanmar’s peace process, national reconciliation, and development efforts. He said China’s steadfast position reflected the deep mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.

He reaffirmed Myanmar’s adherence to the One-China policy in its foreign relations and noted that Myanmar fully supported China’s membership in the United Nations in 1971. He pledged that Myanmar would continue to uphold this principle to strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to regional peace and stability.

The SAC chairman reiterated Myanmar's commitment to work hand in hand with China at this historic moment to pursue shared goals and promote lasting mutual benefits for both peoples. He also stressed efforts to accelerate the building of a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable “community with a shared future” between the two nations.

He confirmed Myanmar’s willingness to cooperate closely with China based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, and to further deepen cooperation across all sectors for the common good of both countries’ citizens.

The event commemorated the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations and served to reaffirm Myanmar’s determination to further strengthen bilateral ties through strategic cooperation and people-to-people connectivity.
