An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale struck near Mandalay in the early hours of April 18, according to a statement from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

The tremor occurred at exactly 3:57:49 am local time, with its epicenter located approximately 4 miles northwest of Mandalay. The quake originated at a depth of 11 kilometers beneath the earth's surface.

Authorities have not yet reported any damage or casualties.
