Two Myanmar workers who were cleaning an underground pit connected with an underground power line near the vicinity of Soi Pracha Chuen 37, Bangkok, Thailand, were electrocuted to death at around 11:45 pm on March 24.
The rescue team from Ruamkatanyu Foundation received a call about the victims who were reported to have been electrocuted in an underground pit. Although the rescue team went to the scene and three rescuers were ready to enter the 15-meter-wide and 15-meter-deep electric wire trench, they had to wait for the city's electricity department to temporarily cut off the power before they could help since the trench was a power line.
The rescue team was able to rescue the two workers about two hours after the incident, but the two workers had already lost their lives.
The two Myanmar workers who died were identified as 47-year-old U Min Lwin Win and 30-year-old Ko Lin Naing, and their bodies were taken to hospital.
Other cleaning workers said that the two victims had gone down a ladder to clean the pit. Five minutes later, they heard screams of being electrocuted and went to investigate, finding two colleagues lying at the bottom of the ditch, according to reports from Thailand.
